We recently finished a grass reinforcement project at Erddig House, which is a National Trust property on the outskirts of Wrexham. Erddig House is an historic building built in 1687, with superb landscaped areas around the grounds of the main building.
The BBC was about to film ‘Antiques Roadshow’, so full use of the off-road parking would be required for the film crew and visitors. Staff at Erddig quipped that visitor numbers would be bolstered following not only during, but after filming of the hit show, meaning even more vehicular and pedestrian traffic to the site.
In total, 105 reels of our medium duty grass reinforcement mesh were used, which equated to 4200 square metres. This was quickly installed by a small army of staff in the days before the event. By using the GP Flex grass reinforcement on the field for additional parking, it stopped the grassed area from turning into a quagmire and provided a suitable non-slip surface, thanks to its unique anti-slip coating and as an extra bonus, no planning permission was required!
